November book haul

After forgetting to do my book haul until midway through November, I thought it would be good to get it out on time this month!

eBooks:
'Bound By Duty' by Stormy Smith and 'The Faerie Guardian' by Rachel Morgan were both free for the Kindle, so I couldn't resist.

I was involved in the cover reveal for 'Antidote' by Taylor Hondos, and the blog tour for Melanie Surani's other novel, 'The Silent Treatment', so when their novels came up free in conjunction with a blog, I had to grab them!

I've heard amazing things about this book - particularly from Benjamin Of Tomes and A Book Utopia (Sasha, who is the girl on the cover!) - so when it went on Kindle deal for 99p, I wasn't going to pass it up.

The last Kindle book I purchased this month was 'Me and Earl and the Dying Girl'. I've had my eye on it for a while, and when it went on sale to just over £1, I needed to pick it up. I really want to read it before watching the movie, but the film just looks so good!

Graphic novels:
I actually only bought 'Batgirl', because my lovely wonderful friend no longer wanted her copies of 'Guardians of the Galaxy' so she gave them to me! The art styles of both are absolutely gorgeous, and I can't wait to read them - I keep trying to resist, but it's so hard!

Library book sale:

Not like I bought enough classics last month to last me a lifetime, I got hold of a few more this month! Well, and YA book or two as well...

Charity shopping:
I tried to hold myself back this month, but I couldn't resist getting 'Afterworlds' by Scott Westerfeld - come on, it's Scott freaking Westerfeld - 'Afterlife' by Claudia Gray, which is the last book in the 'Evernight' series that I needed to purchase, or 'California' by Edan Lepucki, which I've been looking for for months. I hadn't heard of 'The Well' before, but it was only released earlier this year so I'm hoping it'll be a good thriller read.

Illumicrate:
This is the first ever Illumicrate, ever. I've been following Winged Reviews (Daphne, the creator of the box) on Twitter for as long as I can remember, so I'd been anticipating this for a while and pre-ordered the day that it was announced. It was a long wait through the beginning of November, checking her Twitter for shipping updates every day, and when it got here it was probably the most exciting day of my life.
The contents of the box were stunning. The poster is a collection of redesigned Harry Potter covers, and the bookmark at the top is a handmade collection of the wolves on the 'Wolf by Wolf' cover. I'd heard of Ryan Graudin because of his previous novel ('The Walled City', which I still haven't read...) but I'm very excited about this title.
The Hunger Games necklace that was included in the box was absolutely stunning, so I needed to upload a picture of that on its own.
Illumicrate is released quarterly, and I'm already beyond excited for the next installment! Well done, Daphne, you've excelled with this creation.

Owlcrate:

My second Owlcrate was a fantasy theme, featuring 'Soundless' by Richelle Mead. I've only read one of Richelle Mead's books so far and I really enjoyed it, but I've heard mixed reviews for this one... I'm looking forward to diving in and deciding for myself.
I absolutely love the little mermaid compact mirror and the fairytale castle locket, and I can't wait to try the caffeine free Sleeping Beauty tea.

So that's only 29 books this month! Considering the fact that eight of those were free... It's a lot better than previous months, but still more than I'd been hoping to buy...

Oh, one last thing before I go! This isn't a book, but it's a book-related bag, so I just wanted to show off my gorgeous 'Red Rising' tote and give a huge thank you to Hodderscape for sending it me.
I'm participating in #ReadRedRising, a readalong of the first two books in the series read for 'Morning Star' releasing - if you haven't read 'Red Rising' yet, make sure to join in! You don't want to miss it.

    1. I am indeed an L.J. Smith fan! I own all of her books now (well, apart from some of the newer TVD/The Secret Circle, because they all seem to be written by ghostwriters now :( ). I've read a large chunk of TVD and the Night World series, but I need to re-read them - it's been so long!
