TOP TEN TUESDAY: Ten books I need to read this spring

I feel as though I've been getting behind on my reading, because I've been attempting to read far more than it's physically possible to do. I'm still ten books ahead of schedule on my Goodreads target, but I feel like I'm about eighty behind!
Hopefully by listing these books here, it'll give me the kick up the bum that I need to get them read over the next couple of months.

10) 'Carve the Mark' by Veronica Roth

I know this is going to be a controversial choice, but I feel as though I want to read 'Carve the Mark' to make my own judgment regarding all of the accusations surrounding it. Described as both racist and ableist, there have been compelling arguments from both sides of the debate, but I feel as though I'd like to make up my own mind about this book. 

9) 'The Burning World' by Isaac Marion

Isaac's promotion of this book really annoyed me. If he hadn't been acting like an idiot, I probably would have bought it and devoured it on release day, because I LOVED 'Warm Bodies'. I'd like to get this one read (despite the thick size) but I'm not that excited anymore. 

8) 'Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban' by J.K. Rowling

I am going to reread this book IF IT KILLS ME. 

7) 'Isla and the Happily Ever After' by Stephanie Perkins

I don't know why I can't read this damn book. I was meant to read it last February for my personal series challenge, then I was meant to read it in autumn to catch up with the aforementioned challenge... And I still haven't read it. I know for a fact I'm going to devour it in one sitting, so I can't for the life of me figure out what's stopping me from doing that. 

6) 'Orangeboy' by Patrice Lawrence

This is cheating, because I HAVE to read 'Orangeboy': it's the #SundayYA book club pick of the month. I've been putting it off for long enough, though... There's just something about this one that makes me feel apprehensive. 

5) 'Caraval' by Stephanie Garber

I'm terrified of the hype surrounding this one, which is the only reason I haven't devoured it yet. It's beautiful, it sounds like it's going to be magical and wonderful in equal measures, but I'm so scared that it's not going to live up to my expectations. 

4) 'Frostblood' by Elly Blake

I participated in the damn blog tour when this was released, and despite the fact that I was a few chapters in I still haven't finished it. I need to start this one again from the beginning and commit to finishing it. 

3) 'The Girls' by Emma Cline

This was THE biggest debut of 2016. I finally managed to borrow a copy from the library after months of waiting, and it's still sat there, waiting for me to pick it up. WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME?!

2) 'Girls on Fire' by Robin Wasserman

I missed out on participating in the blog tour for this book, but Little, Brown still kindly sent me a review copy. I feel so guilty for not having time to read it yet, so this is high on my priority list! 

1) 'Strange the Dreamer' by Laini Taylor

I was intended to read 'Strange the Dreamer' last month, but I didn't get the time: it's quite a large book, and things have been hectic at work. I'm hoping to start it at some point soon, though - I was absolutely desperate to get an advanced copy of this one, so it'd be a shame to waste the opportunity!
