TOP FIVE WEDNESDAY: Top five YA betrayals

I'm going to prove just how predictable I am this week. I'm sure if any of you have visited this blog before, you'll know EXACTLY which books have betrayed me - I'm vocal about my dismay and hatred for all of them.
Let's get this over with.

5) 'Stealing Snow' by Danielle Paige

With very basic writing, an underdeveloped world and a LOVE SQUARE, this was one of the worst books I read last year. I was so excited to finally read a Danielle Paige book, especially because it was so hyped and everyone seemed to love it. I let myself get swept up in the excitement and that was one of the biggest mistakes I've ever made, because WOWEE I was betrayed left, right and centre.

4) The Twilight series

BELLA SHOULD HAVE ENDED UP WITH JACOB.
I mean, both love interests were equally shoddy, but COME ON. He was an extremely sexy werewolf (who, admittedly, was a bit of a deflated balloon) but werewolves are hot-blooded and not frozen like vampires. Cuddling Jacob would be like cuddling a hot water bottle the whole time.Who wouldn't want that?!
Other ways this series betrayed me: why was the idea of pre-marital sex such a HUGE no no? Can vampires really impregnate people? Why weren't Alice and Jasper more appreciated?

3) 'Allegiant' by Veronica Roth

This book betrayed me by being unnecessarily long and having absolutely no action for around 92.37%, then having everything happen at once in a completely unsatisfactory manner. You ALL know what I'm talking about, and I bet you were all disappointed too.
I will admit, I am tempted to reread this series. On one hand it seems like a waste of time, but on the other hand I really enjoyed the first two books, so it would be interesting to see if I liked them as much after so many years...

2) 'The Fate of the Tearling' by Erika Johansen

Do you hate the big twist being that the entire plot was a dream or a figment of the protagonist's imagination?
Well, this isn't as bad as that, which is why it's not number one. But it's still pretty darned bad.

1) 'Ruin and Rising' by Leigh Bardugo

There are many, MANY aspects to this books betrayal.
ALL OF MY SHIPS SUNK. The protagonist turns into a wet wipe. The love interest is a wet wipe. Bad things happen to all of the interesting characters. I hate EVERYTHING about this book, and think it was the biggest betrayal I've ever experienced: the second book was absolutely perfect, and then this pile of poop ruined - YEAH, LIKE THE TITLE - the entire series.
*grumbles nonsensically for hours on end*

I think I need a nap after all of this complaining. Did you feel betrayed by any of these books, or am I all on my own again in unpopular opinion corner?
