TOP FIVE WEDNESDAY: Top five favourite dads

(Top Five Wednesday was created by GingerReadsLainey. Find out more at the Goodreads group!)

5) Arthur Weasley from Harry Potter
I haven't seen or read all of the Harry Potter's yet, but I already love Arthur Weasley. He loves his family and accepts Harry without a second thought, instantly questioning him about his Muggle lifestyle.

4) Darren's dad from 'Me Being Me is Exactly as Insane as You Being You'
Darren is our protagonist, and he's a massive dick. I seriously hated this novel because of Darren's attitude - in particular his attitude towards his father, who comes out as gay at the start of the novel. No matter how awful he is towards him, Darren's dad is still a great father.

3) Charlie from the Twilight series
Charlie really doesn't give a fuck about what's going on - there are vampires and werewolves and he accepts it unquestioningly, even if he is a little done by all of the hi-jinks. He loves Bella, though, and compared to her emotionally unattached and abandoning mother, he's a brilliant parent.

2) and 1) Nathan and Andy from 'Lola and the Boy Next Door'
Both of Lola's dads deserve a mention, because Nathan and Andy are brilliant parents who are very hands on - they know what's going on in Lola's life, and they aren't afraid to interfere. They're also the only gay dads that I've experienced in YA, and it proves that gay people are great parents!

I hope you enjoyed this Top Five Wednesday! Are there any dad characters you really like?
