TOP TEN TUESDAY: Ten authors I've read the most

(Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and The Bookish!)

I actually really struggled with this week's Top Ten Tuesday: I have the terrible habit of buying every book that an author has written, but taking endless amounts of time to read them all. This means that the authors that I own lots of books by (Charlaine Harris, Rachel Caine, P.C. Cast) have only had a couple of books read.

10) David Levithan - 5
I've read three books solely by David, and two collaborative efforts with other authors (namely 'Will Grayson, Will Grayson' with John Green and 'Invisibility' with Andrea Cremer). 'Every Day' is one of my favourite books of all time, while 'Marly's Ghost' was one of those books that just made me want to bash my head it: David is very much Marmite to me, just like John Green. However, with the release of 'Another Day', I'm going to read more of his books very soon, so he will be flying up this list.
While I did read David's short story in 'My True Love Gave To Me', the Christmas short story anthology, I'm counting him as the lowest of my five book authors because of the two collaborative novels.

9) Carrie Jones - 5
I flew through Carrie's Need series within a month, and I absolutely loved it. I can't really remember much of what went on now, because it was quite a while ago, but I find myself thinking about it quite regularly. I need to do a re-read of this one, because Carrie hasn't written any books recently and I loved her writing style.

8) Jilliane Hoffman - 5
I thought I'd read all of Jilliane Hoffman's novels, but since researching for this Top Ten Tuesday I've discovered her sixth book was released two months ago! That's definitely something I need to get my hands on, as Jilliane is one of my favourite authors of all time. She takes her time writing novels - three years have passed since her last one was released - so she hasn't got as many out as I wish she did, but they're all of a brilliant quality. I'll be buying 'All The Little Pieces' within the next few weeks, so look out for a review going up in The Courtroom.

7) Erica Crouch - 5
I read all of Erica Crouch's Ignite series this year, after hearing about them on NetGalley and falling in love. Three main novels and two novellas, this series is one of the only that I've completed within a year and haven't faffed about with - I'm very bad at committing to series enders, because I don't want the story to be over!
I've also read Erica Crouch's short story from the 'Polaris Awakening' anthology, which is why she's the second highest of my five book authors.

6) Cassandra Clare - 5
I own all of Cassandra Clare's currently written novels, I just haven't gotten around to reading The Infernal Devices or the first book in the Magisterium series yet. I've currently read the first five books in The Mortal Instruments series and half of the short stories from 'The Chronicles of Magnus Bane'.

5) Stephenie Meyer - 6
I've read all of Stephenie's currently published books (including her short story from 'Prom Nights In Hell') - not necessarily because I'm a big fan, but because she hasn't really done that many. 'The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner' was my favourite of the Twilight series, but I really do love 'The Host', and I'm excited to see what the second and third book bring to the series (if they're ever released).

4) Sara Shepard - 12
Oh, the Pretty Little Liars series. The first eight books were astonishing, amazing, mind-blowing... The rest of them? Not so much. I feel like I'm in too deep to stop now, so I'm probably going to finish the last four eventually; just not quite yet.

3) Erin Hunter - 14
Erin Hunter, author of the Warrior Cats series, definitely must be my second most read author. The Warrior Cats series are each comprised of six books, and at the moment I've read the first two series and a couple of books from the third series. These are very fun middle-grade novels about cats who can talk and battle, and I'm looking forward to re-reading these at some point soon.

2) Lemony Snicket - 14
Had to edit this Top Ten Tuesday, because I completely forgot about Lemony Snicket! I've read all of the A Series of Unfortunate Events books, and 'Horseradish'.

1) R. L. Stine - 20+
I'm not quite sure how many R. L. Stine books I've read, but when I was younger Goosebumps, Goosebumps 2000, Fear Street and The Nightmare Room were all of my favourite series. I definitely read the majority of these and would love to re-read them eventually.

So that's my Top Ten Tuesday. I hope you enjoyed it - feel free to post your TTT links down below and I'll make sure to check them out. See you next week!

    1. You really should! I don't know if they'll have as much of an affect on me now I'm older, but they were so terrifying when I was younger. I read the Point Horror series as a teenager and I loved those too.

  2. Great list this week! Sara Shepard made mine too since I read her Pretty Little Liars and Lying Games books.

    1. I still haven't gotten around to reading the Lying Games books yet, but I'm really interested by the look of 'The Perfectionists' so I'm hoping to get to that one soon.
